Our Mission

To provide our community with connection through good books, quality libations and a warm, inviting space that makes you feel at home.

Our Vision

Our vision is to become a “must visit” neighborhood anchor for Olde Town Arvada. All generations, beliefs, and walks of life are welcome. This is their third space to bring themselves as they are and find their next book, connections with neighbors, and their community.

Our Story

Kate spent her early career shaping young minds as a teacher before trading the classroom for a career in real estate. Kim came up through the world of business consulting before finding her own path to the same real estate industry. Different roads, same destination in 2015: new moms in Arvada.

They were both on the search for mom friends and found a local happy hour story time to bring their kiddos to during witching hour. It’s that time of day between nap time and dinner that just seems to go on for days. Kim was chasing a crawler and Kate was corralling twins, and in the middle of all that chaos, a friendship took root that neither of them saw coming.

Over the next decade, their families grew up together. Their husbands became cycling buddies, their children became friends and confidants. They showed up for each other through the pandemic, and all the ordinary and extraordinary moments in between. They served on PTA and SAC boards, cheered at school events, and built something that looked a lot less like a network and a lot more like a village. Their real estate careers gave them a front-row seat to the neighborhood they loved, and they poured themselves into it, connecting people, building community, and showing up wherever they were needed.

Now they are ready for their third act. They are holding on to their beloved real estate careers, and are ready to be greater stewards of their community. By becoming booksellers, baristas, bartenders, and event coordinators all at once they will open up a third space for community to gather and share ideas.

Kate and Kim are already proud members of the Arvada Chamber of Commerce and are eager to dig deeper into the BID as My Book Cellar takes shape in Olde Town. They love this neighborhood and they cannot wait to give it a place to gather, linger, and start a few new stories of its own.
